A Celebration of Calling, Preparation and Commitment to Kingdom Service
There are moments in ministry that remind us of the faithfulness of God and the importance of answering His call.
Graduation and ordination ceremonies are among those special moments.
They represent more than certificates, academic achievements or public recognition. They represent a journey of prayer, preparation, sacrifice, learning, spiritual growth and commitment to serving God and His people.
It was a great honour for me, Apostle Isaac Rockefeller Asamoah, to be invited as a special guest to join in celebrating ministers and graduates who have taken important steps forward in their ministry journey.
One of the memorable moments of the occasion was the privilege of presenting certificates to ministerial graduates. Another was the opportunity to fellowship and take photographs with ministers and graduates following the ordination ceremony.
These moments serve as powerful reminders that God is still calling, preparing and raising men and women for His work.
Celebrating Those Who Have Answered God’s Call
Every ministerial journey begins with a response.
Some people hear God’s call at a young age. Others discover their calling after years of serving faithfully in the Church. For many, the journey begins with a deep burden to preach the Gospel, teach God’s Word, pray for others, evangelize or serve God’s people.
Whatever the beginning may be, answering the call requires faith.
The Bible says:
“And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” — Romans 10:15
The call to ministry is not simply about standing before people. It is a call to responsibility, service, sacrifice and faithfulness.
That is why occasions such as ministerial graduation and ordination are worth celebrating.
They remind us that there are men and women who have chosen to prepare themselves and commit their lives to the service of God’s Kingdom.
The Significance of Ministerial Graduation
Graduation is an important milestone in the life of every student.
For those preparing for Christian ministry, it represents a season of learning, discipline and spiritual development.
Ministerial training provides an opportunity for students to grow in areas such as biblical knowledge, theology, leadership, preaching, prayer, discipleship and practical ministry.
Receiving a certificate is therefore more than receiving a document.
It represents time invested in learning.
It represents sacrifices made.
It represents lessons learned.
And it represents a willingness to prepare for greater responsibility.
It was therefore a privilege to participate in the celebration by presenting certificates to the graduates and recognizing their achievement.
Every certificate presented represented a journey.
Behind every graduate is a story of commitment, learning, challenges and perseverance.
Preparation Is Part of the Calling
One of the important lessons we learn from Scripture is that God prepares those He calls.
Moses was prepared before leading Israel.
Joshua was prepared before leading the next generation.
David was prepared before becoming king.
The disciples were taught and prepared by Jesus before they were sent into ministry.
Preparation does not remove the need for the power of the Holy Spirit.
Instead, preparation and spiritual dependence work together.
The Apostle Paul encouraged Timothy:
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed.” — 2 Timothy 2:15
A genuine calling should inspire us to grow.
To study.
To pray.
To learn.
To develop character.
And to become better prepared for the responsibility God places in our hands.
Ordination: A Call to Greater Responsibility
Ordination is also a significant moment in the life of a minister.
It is not simply a ceremony or an opportunity to receive a title.
It is a reminder of responsibility.
A minister is called to serve God’s people with humility, faithfulness and love.
Jesus Himself gave us the greatest example of leadership through service.
“For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister.” — Mark 10:45
For this reason, every newly ordained minister should remember that ordination is not the end of the journey.
It is the beginning of a greater responsibility.
The responsibility to pray.
The responsibility to study God’s Word.
The responsibility to lead with integrity.
The responsibility to care for people.
And the responsibility to remain faithful to Jesus Christ.
A Privilege to Celebrate With Fellow Ministers
Being invited as a special guest to join this occasion was a great privilege.
Ministry should never be a journey of isolation.
The Body of Christ is strengthened when ministers and Christian leaders come together to encourage, pray for and celebrate one another.
The fellowship shared with ministers and graduates during the ordination ceremony was a reminder that we are all labourers in God’s Kingdom.
Our ministries may be different.
Our assignments may be different.
Our locations may be different.
But we serve one Lord and one Kingdom.
The Bible says:
“For we are labourers together with God.” — 1 Corinthians 3:9
There is something powerful about seeing ministers stand together in unity.
It reminds us that the Kingdom of God is greater than any one person, ministry or organization.
Honouring the Journey of Every Graduate
To every graduate, your certificate represents an important achievement, but it should also remind you that learning must continue.
Ministry requires lifelong growth.
Continue to read.
Continue to study.
Continue to pray.
Continue to serve.
Continue to learn from those who have gone ahead of you.
The certificate may mark the completion of a program, but your journey of development continues.
Never stop growing.
Never stop learning.
And never allow knowledge to replace humility and dependence on God.
To Every Newly Ordained Minister
To every minister who has taken the important step of ordination, remember that your greatest title is still servant.
People may recognize your office, but God looks at your heart.
Your calling should produce humility.
Your leadership should produce service.
Your ministry should point people to Jesus.
The Apostle Peter encouraged leaders:
“Feed the flock of God which is among you… neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.” — 1 Peter 5:2–3
The world needs ministers who lead by example.
Ministers who pray.
Ministers who love people.
Ministers who teach the truth.
Ministers who serve faithfully.
And ministers whose lives reflect Christ.
God Is Still Raising Labourers
One of the greatest encouragements from graduation and ordination ceremonies is the reminder that God is still raising labourers for His harvest.
Jesus said:
“The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few.” — Matthew 9:37
The need for faithful ministers remains great.
There are communities that need the Gospel.
Young people who need guidance.
Families who need encouragement.
Believers who need discipleship.
And nations that need men and women who will faithfully proclaim Jesus Christ.
Every graduate who continues to grow.
Every minister who remains faithful.
Every servant of God who answers the call.
Becomes part of God’s work in reaching and transforming lives.
A Word of Encouragement to Those Preparing for Ministry
Perhaps you are reading this and you feel God is calling you into ministry.
Perhaps you have a desire to preach, teach, evangelize, pastor or serve in another area of ministry.
Do not be afraid of the journey of preparation.
Every great assignment requires growth.
Take time to develop your relationship with God.
Study His Word.
Serve faithfully where you are.
Learn from mature leaders.
Develop godly character.
And allow God to prepare you.
The journey may take time, but preparation is never wasted when it is surrendered to God.
A Celebration of Faithfulness
Graduation and ordination are moments of celebration, but they are also moments of reflection.
They remind us of how far God has brought His servants.
They remind us of the importance of preparation.
And they remind us that there is still much work to be done.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have been invited as a special guest and to participate in celebrating the graduates and ministers during this memorable occasion.
The opportunity to present certificates to graduates and fellowship with ministers and newly ordained servants of God was truly an honour.
It is always encouraging to witness men and women taking steps of faith and committing themselves to the service of God’s Kingdom.

To every graduate:
Congratulations on completing this important stage of your preparation.
Continue to grow and develop.
To every newly ordained minister:
Congratulations as you step into greater responsibility and service.
Remain humble.
Remain faithful.
Remain committed to God’s Word.
And above all, remain close to Jesus.
The Kingdom needs faithful labourers.
Your generation needs godly leadership.
And the world needs the Gospel.
May God strengthen you, guide you and use you for His glory.
Final Reflection
The journey of ministry is not defined by a certificate, an ordination ceremony or a title.
It is defined by a lifetime of faithful service.
Graduation marks a milestone.
Ordination marks a responsibility.
But faithful service is the journey that follows.
May we continue to celebrate those who answer God’s call.
May we encourage those who are preparing.
May we support those who are serving.
And may we raise a generation of ministers who will carry the Gospel with truth, humility, wisdom and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Congratulations to every graduate and every minister who has answered the call.
May your preparation produce purpose.
May your calling produce faithful service.
